1:144 Fi 103 Set for V-1 Launch Ramp

This kit is fully painted. No assembling required.

The Fi 103, or commonly known as V-1, can be considered as the world's first cruise missile. The vehicle is usually launched from a ramp with a length of 36 - 48m (118-158ft) similar to the modern aircraft carrier steam catapult.
An Anlassgerät starter device was used to "program" the bomb and start the pulse engine with compressed air before launch. Contradict to common believe, the V-1 pulse engine, also known as a resonant jet, could operate and sustain self combustion while the V-1 is still stationary on the ground. But the thrust obtained could not allow the V-1 to propel itself off the ground in such short distance without the help of the catapult.
During the development, piloted versions known as the Reichemberg series were also made. This piloted version were usually air launched from He-111s rather than launched from a ramp as wrongly depicted in the Movie "Operation Crossbow".
