1:144 V-1 Launch Ramp Starter Kit

This kit is fully painted in Panzergrau scheme. Assembling required.

This is a starter kit for Walter Schlitzrohrschleuder design catapult (WR 2.3) launch ramp for V-1 buzz bomb, the world's first cruise missile. The ramp is usually made of six to eight modular sections with a length of 36 - 48m (118-158ft),
A piston was placed inside a circular tube and connected to the bottom of the V-1. A gas generator powered by combining T-stoff (hydrogen peroxide) and Z-stoff (sodium permanganate) generating gas to propel the piston with the V-1 similar to the modern aircraft carrier steam catapult.
An Anlassgerät starter device was used to "program" the bomb and start the pulse engine with compressed air before launch. Contradict to common believe, the V-1 pulse engine, also known as a resonant jet, could operate and sustain self combustion while the V-1 is still stationary on the ground. But the thrust obtained could not allow the V-1 to propel itself off the ground in such short distance without the help of the catapult.

This 1:144 V-1 Launch Ramp Starter Kit model includes: a.) two modular sections, b.) one base support, c.) one bipod supports, d.) one adaptor module for connecting the steam generator, e.) one gas generator, f.) one starter device, and g.) one compress air cylinder set for the starter device. The ramp starter kit takes up approximately 86mm/3.4in X 25mm/1 in of floor space excluding the accessories.

You will be able to complete a six section launch ramp by purchasing 1:144 V-1 Launch Ramp Kit B Extension to extend the ramp 36m/118ft (258mm/10.2in in 1:144). And a 1:144 V-1 Launch Ramp Kit C Extension will further extend the ramp to an eight section ramp 48m/158ft (344mm/13.5in in 1:144). The full ramp takes up approximately 344mm/13.5in X 25mm/1 in of floor space excluding the accessories.
