1:144 German (Flakpanzer IV 2cm Flak 38 - Vierling) "Wirbelwind" Turret

This conversion set is for converting existing 1:144 Takara or Dragon Panzer IV tanks into Flakpanzer IV "Wirbelwind" (2cm Flak 38 Vierling) Anti Aircraft tanks.

This set contains one turret housing, one gun and sight, and one ring adaptor. The gun is locked into place by fixing the sight onto the turret.
Panzer IV chassis NOT included. THIS MODEL IS UNPAINTED. Gun can be elevated. The turret pivot is 2.5mm in diameter and the ring adapter enlarges the pivot to 5.7mm diameter. Should fit tanks from other manufacturers too.

Depending on which Panzer IV chassis you used, the turret pivot and the adapter might need to be cut short for fitting.

"Wirbelwind" - (Whirlwind) was developed as an improvement to the "Möbelwagen" where a rapidly transversable turret enclosing a 2cm Flak Vierling 38 gave protection to the crew of three. The vehicle had adequate armour and mobility and was very effective for air defense and in ground combat. It overcomed the drawbacks of the Möbelwagen which required considerable time of preparation from travelling mode to firing, and left the crew completely unprotected while doing so.
